September RCGP SCA Results

The results for the September SCA sitting were finally released yesterday, 15th October. We hope it’s been good news for everyone who took their exam last month!

There were however some glitches, as follows:

What Happened?

The RCGP has faced some technical challenges that have impacted the way in which results and feedback for the MRCGP SCA are delivered. Specifically, there has been an issue displaying both the feedback and the overall results at the same time. As a result, candidates have so far only received their overall score and whether this was a Pass or Fail.

The detailed feedback report will be made available separately as soon as the issues are resolved. The team at FourteenFish is still working to make sure this happens as quickly as possible.

As of 12:00 on 16th October, the feedback has still not been released yet.

Additionally, candidates who sat their SCA on the afternoon of 11th September experienced a significant technical interruption during their assessment. To address this, the RCGP Examination Board analysed the data and concluded that, while the technical issue did not materially impact the overall scoring, those affected who did not meet the passing standard will have their attempt voided.

What Does This Mean for You?

If You Passed: If you met or exceeded the passing standard, congratulations! You will be awarded a pass, and your feedback report will be added to your Trainee Portfolio in the usual way.

If You Did Not Pass: For candidates who did not pass and whose session was affected by the delay, the attempt has been voided. This means your September attempt will not count against you. Your examination fee will be carried forward to your next chosen sitting, and your booking will be prioritised.

If you plan to sit the SCA in the upcoming session scheduled for 6th-8th November, you must contact the RCGP exam team at [email protected] by Friday, 18th October. This allows enough time for arrangements to be made on your behalf.

• Receiving Your Feedback: The feedback report will follow after your initial results. Keep an eye on your emails and Trainee Portfolio for updates.
• Planning Your Re-sit: If your exam was voided, ensure you contact the exam team by the deadline provided to secure your next exam date.
• Managing Uncertainty: Exam delays and disruptions can be stressful, but remember that these measures are in place to ensure fairness. Your exam sitting is a reflection of your capabilities, not the result of unforeseen technical issues.
